Death Senses: Bash can interact with ghosts and other undead souls. In addition, he can look at a corpse and get a sense for how it was killed--let's negotiate whether that works on vampires or not individually!
Afraid of the Dark: He can use shadows to create a brief illusion that strikes fear into the hearts of others. This is not a thing where he knows your fears, it's more like that moment in a horror film where shadows grow darker and there's a violin sting to let you know things are spooky-ooky.
Where Are You?: If someone makes remote contact with him (by telephone, instant messenger, telepathy…), he can get a sense of how far away he is and in what direction. The sensation remains even after the period of contact ends, but it doesn’t follow the person around if that person moves.
I'm not looking to push anyone around OOCly, so if you're not comfortable with any of these powers, let me know and I'll assume they don't work on your character. You can use the handy form below to opt in or give me any relevant information:
Using Death Senses, would Bash sense anything weird about your character?
Would your character be suceptible to Afraid of the Dark?
Can I sense your character's location using Where Are You?

2) Sure!
3) Go ahead!

Afraid of the Dark: Yes go ahead and spook the bot
Where Are You: Sure that's fine

2) I'm not entirely sure Ebalon feels fear because he's ? bizarre? But if it comes up I would love to fuck around with it! So like, a tentative yes?
3) Ebalon is a mind mage so 100% yes on this one! Could be very funny.

Afraid of the Dark: Sure, though Blackbeard has no fear! ... He'd probably assume a fuckery is afoot, and by that I mean he'd assume an illusion or general theatrics.
Where Are You?: Sure, use your echolocation on him, why not.

Would your character be susceptible to Afraid of the Dark? Yes.

2. This could probably work but Conan is far more likely to investigate anything he's unsure of.
3. Sure? I don't see why not.
no subject
Afraid of the Dark: Yep, though the contract Tasting the Harvest could probably counter it if used
Where Are You: Sure! I'd imagine if he's in the cottage at the time it would probably ping to the last door he entered from

He DID die in an explosion before arriving on the ship.
Afraid of the Dark: He won't be spooked by something like that, but will be wary if it cancels his night vision.
Where are you: Sure

April isn't dead.
Would your character be suceptible to Afraid of the Dark?
April might be able to tell what Bash is doing with this, but wouldn't be afraid (would read it more like one animal facing an intimidation display from another, which is to say she'd be intimidated for different reasons)
Can I sense your character's location using Where Are You?
No/not accurately, being Vague is part of April's thing

IDK if this works with video game respawn mechanics... Jack was technically alive when he was brought here.
Would your character be suceptible to Afraid of the Dark?
I started filling this out thinking I'd know the answer but you know what? I don't think I can say for certain without the context of a scene lmfao. I'll say I'm open to it and if it comes up I'll plot with you then }:3
Can I sense your character's location using Where Are You? </i Yes!

2. Totes, I always do check-ins before springing powers on people unless they're explicitly like 'fuck me up please' at this stage.

2. If it relies on Arthur seeing the shadows, that’s not going to work. If it’s not vision-dependent and is more of a vibes thing, then 100% yes.
3. Absolutely locate he!

2) Yeah, go for it! Though Pal is generally not afraid of Spooky Shadows because he is an Annoying Science Guy.
3) Sure thing!

2. It's not just shadows in the visual sense, it's the whole world seeming to get spookier in a ✨Vibes✨ sense for just a moment. It hits at lizard brain.
no subject
2. Ooo, that's fair! Pal will still actively resist the spooky vibes for the same reason, but that doesn't mean he'll be unaffected by them! He'll be like that guy who insists he's Totally Not Afraid Of The Haunted House even if he is.
for Crichton and Number 6 - too lazy to log out
1. He's been technically dead one time after being administered an alien drug that can stop his heart. He was revived using CPR.
+ Don't know if Bash would be able to sense this, but at one point he was twinned (made into two completely identical and valid copies of himself) and the other copy has now died of radiation poisoning.
2. Yeah, that would spook the hell out of him. Okay with me.
3. Good with me.
Number 6
1. Nothing much to see. He's had near misses but no genuine deaths.
2. That would freak him out and make him pretty angry, but I'm fine with it happening.
3. Good with me. Obviously, he will hate it if he finds out.
no subject
2. Please do, he'll think he's in a Trial, it'll go great.
3. He's in the Buffet, Bash. He's always in the Buffet. (But yes echolocate him)

Afraid of the Dark: I could see this having the potential to really unnerve Shi Qingxuan, so please ask first. 🙏 The whole artificially created fear really would freak him out and possibly derail a whole thread. Which is sometimes a good thing, so I'm not against it!
Where Are You: Yeah, go ahead!

idk how it works? skulduggery is technically alive, not undead or anything. if it's a magical ping of "how he was killed" i guess "torture" is the answer, but if its a "i can make deductions about a death based on what i see" then the answer is "who knows" -- tbh if it ever comes up we can just hash it out oocly
Would your character be susceptible to Afraid of the Dark?
nope
Can I sense your character's location using Where Are You?

2) Afraid of the Dark: She's not one to be afraid of much, but we can always swing it somehow for plot if needed.
3) Where are you: Find away!

Afraid of the Dark: definitely susceptible
Where Are You: go ahead!

Would your character be susceptible to Afraid of the Dark? yes

2. If his powers can work on an audio level, yes, otherwise Helena is immune due to being fully blind.
3. Yes!

Afraid of the Dark: She'd probably be susceptible, at least a little.
Where Are You: Sure!

Afraid of the Dark -- hell yes. His susceptibility depends on his state of mind at the time; anywhere from "wildly, terrifyingly effective" to "brushed off"
Where Are You? -- sure

Death Senses: Ruby and Crabb are very not dead, Daisy being an Avatar has by nature died in some way, but since in her case it might be the 'metaphysical' kind I'm not sure if he'd pick anything up.
Afraid of the Dark: Yes they're probably all varyingly susceptible.
Where Are You? Yes go for it.

2. Sure
3. Sure

Death Senses: he was technically killed just before appearing on the ship!
Afraid of the Dark: yes!
Where Are You?: yes!

Afraid of the Dark: This is extremely similar to a common effect from his canon which can be a warning sign that something deadly is lurking nearby but can also be mostly harmless, so if he gets a sudden burst of anxiety out of nowhere and doesn't know why he's scared, his first assumption is going to be that the feeling of fear is being artificially induced by something nearby and he'll try to triangulate the source by pacing around and seeing if things are spookier in a particular direction. (This is one of the ways to detect certain monsters in his canon that can hide and then pop out and take off half your health bar.) So he's probably not going to be too deeply shaken either in the moment or afterwards, but it does work on him, he will be spooked.
Where Are You? Yeah, that's fine.
