Having glanced in the discord I realize the key thing you're detecting is if the character is presently dead like a vampire, in which case I'll be saying no, Jack's alive. He's died a lot of times, but brought back all the way to life each time and has never been undead or anything, and was alive when he was brought to the ship 👍
